About Moi

Welcome to Thé Chez Moi (pronounced "tay shay mwah"), or Tea at My House. After living in France for almost 4 years, I developed a profound appreciation for food, the joy of eating, et "les plaisirs de la table" (pleasures of the table). I've lived overseas for more than 6 years now, and besides travel, photography, and international development work, my other passion is food. Specifically, scrumptious food that's nutritious, satisfying, grain free and smartly sweetened using alternative sweeteners that won't spike my blood sugar (low impact).

I am not super strict about avoiding all grains and will occasionally use corn starch and other small amounts of grain products, but I mostly try to avoid them. I eat naturally-occuring sugars in dairy and fruits, but normally pair fruits with something higher in fat or protein such as cream, nuts or cheese, to keep the impact on my blood sugar level as low as possible. I purchase many of my ingredients online, especially for baking, as most of them are not available overseas. I try to eat organic, grass-fed and whole foods whenever possible, but living in the developing world often precludes this. Sit down over a cup of tea and peruse my vignettes and low impact recipes.
