I am not super strict about avoiding all grains and will occasionally use corn starch and other small amounts of grain products, but I mostly try to avoid them. I eat naturally-occuring sugars in dairy and fruits, but normally pair fruits with something higher in fat or protein such as cream, nuts or cheese, to keep the impact on my blood sugar level as low as possible. I purchase many of my ingredients online, especially for baking, as most of them are not available overseas.
